Drove along the Eastern Shore in the early morning and stood on the pier overlooking the glass-flat water. Completed office work at the Waterfront Rescue Mission in Mobile, shredding old documents to make room for new. Helped serve lunch (beanie weenies, bread, and sweet tea) with a few men from the rehabilitation program to the transient population that visits for a hot mid-day meal. Caught in a deluge, soaked before we reached the car, and developed an understanding for why the area was so green.
