(Doesn't it make you proud to know we concentrate so hard on driving that we miss the state signs?)
Discussed religion and teaching with one of the more creative educators ever. No ands, ifs, or buts – EVER. She even treated us to her cackle, which would make the Wicked Witch of the West’s toes curl. We served at Help!Line, an organization dedicated to linking community members to community services. Tim and I sat in their conference room, stuffing envelopes for a mailing. I folded stacks of paper, stuffing the tri-fold documents into logoed envelopes and affixed address labels. I then slid them across the table to Tim, who fastened stamps and sealed the flaps, organizing them in piles by zip code. After a spin through the museum, in which we saw the mural painted by the SALSA (Serve and Learn Student Association) members and a discussion about who not to hug across the US, we dropped off hand made hats to local organizations and visited a SALSA meeting at a local high school.
